Founded in 1999, ArborCreek is nestled in a small, quiet suburb of northwest Dallas. Owned and operated by Teachers, our school is designed with the child in mind. With a family-like atmosphere, our custom built furniture, beautiful materials, and low student / teacher ratios make the learning experience exciting, challenging, and safe.
Our environments match the physical, emotional, psychological, and academic developmental levels of the children they serve. With the opportunity to complete the whole self -- just like the butterfly struggling to break free from its chrysalis -- the child is free to unfold and develop to reach its full potential. We combine exploration and discovery time with academic activities which lead the child to a greater understanding of their world. Art, music, Spanish and/or French, recycling, gardening, and composting are incorporated into daily activities. Our school provides art history, physical education, Foreign Language study (currently Spanish/French), school supplies, and snack at no additional charge.
Our students live in Farmers Branch, Addison, Carrollton, Coppell, Flower Mound, Garland, Irving, Lewisville, North Dallas, Oak Cliff, Plano, and Richardson. Their parents have various educational levels ranging from High School through Doctoral degrees. Multi-culturally diverse, our families are from North, Central and South America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. Excited about our school, parents encouraged us to open an Elementary Class for first, second, and third grade siblings to be able to attend. The 2007-08 Academic school year saw our ninth Kindergarten graduating class. Alumni have moved on to public Montessori schools, upper level private Montessori schools, accelerated public school programs, and other local private schools. In 2004, one of ArborCreek's alumnus was accepted into the Duke University Talent Search Program. Our PTO participates in community service through collections and donations for: MetroCrest Social Services (Food/clothes/toy drives), the Salvation Army, and the Red Cross. We also encourage environmental responsibility and involvement in helping other children by recycling and by participating in the National Association for Autism Research's "Walk Far for NAAR", the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's "Mini-March", St. Jude Children's Research Hospital's "Trike-a-Thon", the Focus Conservation Fund's "Tees for Trees" program, Locks of Love's hair donations, and other local charity events. The owners of the school, out of a sense of generosity and dedication to their cause of education, established a fund to offer need-based scholarships which allows the children to attend our school at a reduced cost, experience a diverse classroom population, and which helps contribute to the local community. To date they have donated more than $35,000 in educational scholarships to needy children. If you would like to support their effort, click HERE to contact them. |
